MIndanao State University- Main Campus 2016 Founding Anniversary






On September 1, 2016 Mindanao State University (MSU) main campus also known as “the melting pot of the south” celebrated its 55 anniversary with the theme “In partnership with the National Government in pursuing reforms towards peace and poverty alleviation”. Going back to its history MSU was founded under Republic Act 1387, as amended, and Republic Act 1893 by then Senator Domacao Alonto. It was formally established on September 1, 1961, in Marawi City, with the organization of its Board of regents and the Election of Dr. Antonio Isidro as its founding President.
Within its fifty five years of establishment Mindanao State University never fail to keep its mark in Academe through dedicated pursuit of quality education and commitment to excellence. Still soaring high producing a lot of brilliant professionals who excel very well in their chosen field wherever their workplace are. Graduates that came from different parts of the MINSUPALA and neighboring areas in the island of Visayas be it Muslims, Lumads, and Non- Muslims who belong to the lower level of society.
Today, MSU as a system has autonomous campuses in seven strategic areas which cut across Regions 9, 10, 11 and 12 in Mindanao. From one campus University in Marawi City, MSU has expanded into a multi-campus University with eleven campuses. It is reputed as one of the prestigious and leading state University in the Philippines, being included every year to the list of top-notchers in various Board exams especially in engineering and also Bar exams. Now, MSU still commits and on its way on attaining a world class status.

Aga Khan Museum -Mindanao State University Marawi City

I am very proud to say that I am an MSU’an. Aga Khan is just located on where I am currently studying. Aga Khan Museum is one of the prides of Mindanao State University. June 13, 1962 the museum was officially opened and was founded by Dr. Mamitua D. Saber and he was one of the pioneering of the Mindanao State University. The museum was later renamed in honour of Prince Shah Karim Al Hussaini.   Old but beautiful artefacts of the Meranao are being stored in the museum. Swords, plates, cups, and other things regularly used by their ancestors are there. The materials they used for fishing, for farming is there. The construction of their houses and materials use during celebrations such as weddings and the like are being preserved as well.  On the other hand a monkey eating eagle is also conserved.
